I’m just so excited when I’m around him. It’s like when you see a white buffalo and you just hold your breath – you’re just hoping that it’s not going to end. Because it’s the closest I can come to hanging out with my dad. Every second I’ve ever spent with Paul has been really meaningful to me. He was my dad’s best mate for a long time. And my dad didn’t have many friends, you know?

Paul surprising the crowd last night to sing “Birthday” for Ringo. Ringo provides the drums, with two of his grand kids sitting next to him up on the drum riser. After the song, they give each other a big hug and kiss. The only thing that’s missing is Yoko coming back out onstage to provide the “birthday” backing vocals — which she and Pattie Boyd sang on the original track. But you can just make out both Ringo and Paul giving her a hug as they leave the stage.
